Know Your Car Seats

Choosing the right car seat for your child is one of the most important decisions you can make to keep them safe. There are five stages from infant to adult seat belts. Making the right choice depends on the age, height, and weight of your child as they grow.

The first stage is an infant seat, which is always rear-facing. Next, the child goes to a forward facing car seat and a booster seat after that. Once they are tall enough that the seat belt will fit properly, they can move to an adult seat belt.

It is important to wait until your child reaches the proper height and weight before moving on to the next size. If you have any questions, a local hospital, your pediatrician, and the State Highway Patrol are always willing to give you advice. If you are unsure, there are plenty of experts to help.
