How Extreme Heat Is the Real Battery Killer

When most people picture waking up to a dead battery it is a cold and dreary day, but if we are going by statistics the heat is more likely to fry during the summer. Here in Lansdale, we have some hot summer days, and the staff at [DEALER] wants to make sure that you know how to properly take care of your vehicle to ensure you have a happy ownership experience.

Lead-acid batteries are full of acid, and this acid is full of electrolytes. When these electrolytes heat up they increase the capacity of the battery, but they also evaporate. If you happen to overcharge the battery or charge it when there is no acid in it, you will significantly shorten its lifespan. Under extreme conditions, the battery can even explode.

Our staff at Bergey's Lincoln wants you to know that these issues are quite infrequent and we don't want you to worry too much about them. We find that it is better to be informed and if you suspect that your battery is having issues that you know to bring it to our service center to have it inspected.
